United Arab Emirates eSIM

How much eSIM data for 7 days in the United Arab Emirates?

For 7 days in the United Arab Emirates with normal daily use, TripUtils estimates 3–5 GB. A 5 GB plan is the usual buffer. Not a live price. Maps, Careem/Uber and messaging fit the normal band. Hotel Wi‑Fi is common in Dubai but not a reason to skip a data plan for the airport and taxis. Type G at 230 V matches the UK.

What to do next

EU roaming does not cover the United Arab Emirates. A 5 GB plan is the usual buffer. Open Saily and pick a live United Arab Emirates plan.

Roaming in the United Arab Emirates on an Austrian plan: what A1 and Drei charge

The United Arab Emirates is outside EU roam-like-at-home, so the EU data in an Austrian plan does not apply there. Published prices, checked on 22 Oct 2026 (euros incl. VAT):

NetworkOptionDataPrice
A1Roaming Pass (Zone 2)per started GB€5.90
DreiRoaming-Paket Travel1 GB, 15 days€10.00
DreiRoaming-Paket Travel Select5 GB, 15 days€20.00

For the 5 GB planning size (7 days), A1’s Roaming Pass would bill 5 × €5.90 = €29.50; on Drei, 1 package (Travel Select) cover it for €20.00. A1 says the Roaming Pass is switched on automatically for every tariff signed since 24 June 2026, and it blocks roaming data at a default limit of €60, which you can raise yourself.

Magenta prices depend on the tariff — look them up in Magenta’s roaming finder. Older tariffs without these options can cost more. Sources: A1, Drei, Magenta.

Assumptions and sources

Light 0.20 / normal 0.50 / heavy 0.95 GB per day, plus optional extras, plus about 20% buffer. No live retail prices.

Winter sun weeks lift Dubai and Abu Dhabi stays; summer heat moves people indoors — that is not a data-model change.

Common questions

Is 5 GB enough for 7 days in the United Arab Emirates?

Maps, Careem/Uber and messaging fit the normal band. Hotel Wi‑Fi is common in Dubai but not a reason to skip a data plan for the airport and taxis. Type G at 230 V matches the UK. The 3–5 GB estimate plus buffer lands on 5 GB. Hotel Wi‑Fi is not counted. Streaming video on mobile is the usual reason to go larger.

Should I roam in the United Arab Emirates instead?

The UAE is outside EU roaming. As of 22 Oct 2026, A1’s Roaming Pass bills €5.90 per started GB there (zone 2) and Drei sells 1 GB for €10 or 5 GB for €20, valid 15 days. Compare that with an eSIM quote for the same GB.

Do you show live Saily prices?
