United Arab Emirates eSIMHow much eSIM data for 30 days in the United Arab Emirates?
For 30 days in the United Arab Emirates with normal daily use, TripUtils estimates 12–18 GB. A 20 GB plan is the usual buffer. Not a live price. Maps, Careem/Uber and messaging fit the normal band. Hotel Wi‑Fi is common in Dubai but not a reason to skip a data plan for the airport and taxis. Type G at 230 V matches the UK.

What to do next
EU roaming does not cover the United Arab Emirates. A 20 GB plan is the usual buffer. Open Saily and pick a live United Arab Emirates plan.
Roaming in the United Arab Emirates on an Austrian plan: what A1 and Drei charge
The United Arab Emirates is outside EU roam-like-at-home, so the EU data in an Austrian plan does not apply there. Published prices, checked on 22 Oct 2026 (euros incl. VAT):
| Network | Option | Data | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| A1 | Roaming Pass (Zone 2) | per started GB | €5.90 |
| Drei | Roaming-Paket Travel | 1 GB, 15 days | €10.00 |
| Drei | Roaming-Paket Travel Select | 5 GB, 15 days | €20.00 |
For the 20 GB planning size (30 days), A1’s Roaming Pass would bill 20 × €5.90 = €118.00. A1 says the Roaming Pass is switched on automatically for every tariff signed since 24 June 2026, and it blocks roaming data at a default limit of €60, which you can raise yourself. Drei packages last 15 days, so a longer trip needs packages for each period.
Magenta prices depend on the tariff — look them up in Magenta’s roaming finder. Older tariffs without these options can cost more. Sources: A1, Drei, Magenta.
Planning size
| Habits | 30-day range | Planning size |

| Normal (maps, messages, social) | 12–18 GB | 20 GB |
| Normal + daily video | 30–45 GB | 50 GB |
Assumptions and sources
Light 0.20 / normal 0.50 / heavy 0.95 GB per day, plus optional extras, plus about 20% buffer. No live retail prices.
Winter sun weeks lift Dubai and Abu Dhabi stays; summer heat moves people indoors — that is not a data-model change.

Common questions
Is 20 GB enough for 30 days in the United Arab Emirates?
Maps, Careem/Uber and messaging fit the normal band. Hotel Wi‑Fi is common in Dubai but not a reason to skip a data plan for the airport and taxis. Type G at 230 V matches the UK. The 12–18 GB estimate plus buffer lands on 20 GB. Hotel Wi‑Fi is not counted. Streaming video on mobile is the usual reason to go larger.
Should I roam in the United Arab Emirates instead?
The UAE is outside EU roaming. As of 22 Oct 2026, A1’s Roaming Pass bills €5.90 per started GB there (zone 2) and Drei sells 1 GB for €10 or 5 GB for €20, valid 15 days. Compare that with an eSIM quote for the same GB.
